Most people who have been looking for a job for a while develop feelings ranging from despair to depression.
These are perfectly normal reactions and something we here at The Job Factory deal with on a daily basis.
The first thing we tell clients is to set aside these feelings at least for a few days – until we have had time to work on their case. We have been able to find jobs within literally hours for people who have been unemployed and looking for a job for three, six or even more months.
Once we take over your job search we want clients to relax and let us take the stress out of the job search process. Our aim is to get employers to come to our clients with job offers – not the other way around.
Of course, we still want you to keep looking the traditional way as well – never put all your eggs in one basket.
People who have been looking for a job for a lengthy period also begin to think that there is something wrong with them. About 70 per cent of our clients give a reason why they think that they have not been able to get a job.
Young people – I do not have experience.
Born overseas – I do not have local experience.
Females – They think I will get pregnant and leave to have a baby.
Older workers – I am overqualified or too old.
Disabled – They want an able-bodied person.
Thanks to the way we search for job vacancies, none of these matter. We get jobs for graduates, foreigners, the elderly, disabled and every other type of worker imaginable. No particular group finds it easier or more difficult to find a job.
Other job seekers believe that visa restrictions, or their desire to work part time, are hampering their job search.
There has been massive growth in the number of part-time workers and this makes it easy to find part-time work. It also mean that someone on a restrictive work or student visa can quite easily find work.
In fact, it can be easier to find part-time work than full-time work
No matter who you are, or what your circumstances, we can probably help.
If we can’t help we will tell you immediately.
